传染病预防控制国家重点实验室(State Key Laboratory of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control, SKLID)于2005年3月22 日经科技部批准正式成立、进入建设时期。2011年1月7日通过评估。SKLID 的依托单位为中国疾病预防控制中心,学术委员会主任为中国疾病预防控制中心主任王宇教授,实验室主任为徐建国研究员。

‘The Belt and Road’ International Conference on Plague Prevention and Control was successfully held in Harbin


In order to call on “the Belt and Road” Initiative, communicate experience on plague prevention and control, enhance technological level and the ability on emergency response, promote the establishment of international joint plague pevention and control mechanism under “the Belt and Road” Initiative, the International Conference on Plague Prevention and Control, sponsored by State Key Laboratory of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control (SKLID), Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC), and Wu Lien-Teh Institute of Harbin Medical University, was held in Harbin from Nov. 13th to 15th, 2018. The conference is organized by National Institute of Communicable Disease Control and Prevention (ICDC) and Heilongjiang Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention.



The theme of the conference is “cooperation along the Belt and Road: joint action on plague prevention and control”. The conference focuses on the following five topics:

1. Plague spread risk in the globalization context (Plague monitoring and epidemic control in various countries).

2. Molecular subtyping and genomic tracing technology: Application in plague outbreak investigation.

3. Pathogenic mechanisms of plague and the adaptation and evolution among the host, vector and ecological environment.

4. Strategies and measures on controlling animal plague and human plague, including risk assessment method.

5. Plague vaccine and bacteriaphage.



A total of 21 international representatives originated from 11 countries attended the conference. They come from “the Belt and Road” countries and  Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) counties, including Russia, Brazil, South Africa, Myanmar, Iran ,Tajikistan , Mongolia and Madagascar, as well as other international professional organizations or institutes, such as WHO, US CDC and Pasteur Laboratory in France. More than 80 domestic experts engaged in plague control and prevention participated in the conference, too. They come from China CDC, relevant provincial or municipal CDC branches, and the Academy of Military Medical Science, etc.



In addition, the achievement and challenges on the plague control and prevention in China was introduced in the conference. Through panel discussion, different strategies and measures on controlling animal plague and human plague: advantage and disadvantages of positive/passive animal surveillance were deeply discussed among international and domestic participants. And the initiative and implementation mechanisms on joint plague prevention and control on background of globalization were agreed through experts consensus. It was also determined that “International Conference on Plague Prevention and Control” will be held every two years in the future.



The delegates visited the Museum of Wu Lien-Teh on Nov. 15th.
